Dearly beloved in Christ, Our Palliative Care Centre aims to offer special medical care for patient with long-term, progressive illness like heart disease, lung disease, kidney disease, cancer or dementia. Through our compassionate care we seek to relieve the symptoms, pain and stress of serious illness and to improve the patient’s quality of life.

From our experience we have realised that along with quality care we also need to develop quality infrastructure so as to enable the patients to spend their days as comfortably as possible. This will inspire them to find the will and courage to deal with their life limiting illnesses.

Palliative Care Centre was part of the grand vision of the founder of Tharangam, Dr. Zacharias Mar Theophilus Suffragan Metropolitan. It is named after our beloved and most respected Mar Chrysostom Valliya Metropolitan to honor his unparalleled ministry within the Church and outside. It is most imperative that a building reflecting this vision and purpose be constructed. The new building will stand out as a landmark of compassionate care and service to the sick patients. Hence we request your whole hearted support to this benovelant, humanitarian and charitable endeavour.

Inaugurated in 2014, this centre is the first of many Community oriented projects being carried out through Tharangam. As the name suggests this Project was initiated to honor the Diamond Jubilee of the Episcopal Consecration of the Late Lamented Padma Bhushan His Grace Dr Philipose Mar Chrysostom Valliya Metropolitan. Since its inception hundreds of terminally ill patients have found relief and comfort during their agony. The palliative centre is presently functioning in an old building that was converted to serve the purpose. This facility can only accommodate a maximum of 15 patients. But there are several limitations in providing best care to the patients. Another important factor is that the need for Palliative care is increasing day by day. With this in mind the Tharangam Managing committee has decided to initiate the construction of a new building to accommodate the old, sick, needy and suffering people. The new building will replace the existing one. It will be built on two floors with a total area of 10000 Sq Ft and will have 13 single roooms, 2 dormitories, a Chapel, kitchen, dining area and nursing stations. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 2 Crores. The building is designed to provide the best facilities to the patients and Staff. You can sponsor rooms, Dormitory or Chapel in the memory of your beloved ones. A plaque will be installed with the names and details of the persons to be remembered.
